报告摘要:

In contrast to the time-independent Schrödinger equation (TISE) which is fully quantized, the time-dependent Schrödinger equation (TDSE) contains time as a parameter, not as an operator. This parameter may be understood as a label, tagging system and environmental states relatively to each other. In the talk, I will derive the TDSE for a system from a time-independent solution for “everything” by conditioning  the full solution on a state on the environment, thereby fully taking into account the interaction of system and environment [1]. Our results are consistent with concepts for the emergence of time where interaction has been taken into account at the expense of a semiclassical treatment of the environment. Including the coupling between system and environment without approximation adds a missing link to the relational time approach introduced in a seminal paper by Page and Wootters 40 years ago [2], opening it to dynamical phenomena of interacting systems and entangled quantum states. Time permitting, I will sketch, how the relational perspective can be amended to include statistical mechanics with the help of complex relational time.
